Tilt and Turn

Had a successful place lay and was going to call it a day. But had an outstanding win back on a horse that started drifting. I stupidly followed the drift out with the expectation I could trade out pre-race with my stake but it kept drifting and I kept backing. Ended up with £2k commited and only managed to trade for a small amount in running. Bloody Tim Vaughan is as bent as anything ! Well that sent me on tilt. Backed another horse to trade in running and got distracted. Would have traded to easily for a win and place in running but when I got back it had led travelled well but finished unplaced. Ended up facing a £5k loss at one point but ground it back with some large lays to a small profit on the day.

Another lesson learnt and another big escape!

December First week

Things have been pretty kind to me for the first week of December. As noted on my last post it is mainly down to the incredible volitility in the in running markets at the moment. I'm sure plenty of 'fast pics and track' boys are doing their conkers at the moment.

Most of the profit as always has come from the UK and US horse racing, but had some decent success on the greyhounds and dipped my toe into the soccer on saturday and a cheeky bet on X factor on Sunday (special bets), together with a small forray into the aussie racing this morning.

My P and L for December is summarised as follows:-

UK Wallet

Football: £93.41 | Greyhound Racing: £583.68 | Horse Racing: £2,124.18 | Special Bets: £93.41 Total P&L: £2,894.68

Aussie Wallet

Greyhound Racing: £31.16 | Horse Racing: £36.94 Total P&L: £68.10

Total Profit for december = £2,962.78

Very pleased with the current progress for December. These figures take me over the £20k made on Betfair since the start of this blog

Decent 3 days to start December

Started December by making the most of the volitile I/R markets. Layed plenty of short price favourites some of which won but traded at well into double figures in running so made some decent profit on all of them. Even made a few quid after dipping my toe into UK greyhounds again.

Not done much on the US racing because I've been a bit tired in the evenings so got out as soon as I was in profit on them.

Only one silly bet so far which almost sent me on tilt.

Delighted with .......

Profit = £2,135.78 (December)

November Summary

Noticed that my last post indicated that I tilted again. I'm glad to report that hasn't happened since, but I have been unable to post as a result of being very busy in my personally life since. I have done quite a lot of punting though, particular from information received so I am happy to report a decent profit on Betfair. In addtional to this profit I also made around £3k from the bookies which included a decent antepost bet on Denman, a trip to the races at Haydock and the bet on Red Suede Shoes. After long consideration I have decided to be using my betdaq profit within the figures.

November Profit on Betfair = £6770.05
Total Profit On Betfair so far = £17,444.37 (would be nice to hit £20k by christmas)

Total Betdaq Profit so far = £3,744.00

Total Exchange Profit = £21,188.37

Tilted Again!

A couple of days ago made a silly bet outside my comfort zone in the last race of the afternoon. With the US racing not starting for a couple of hours I was tilting and chose to bet on the dogs. 2 bad lays and I'm facing a deficit and start chasing. Was up and down for a bit then spent the whole evening until late on the US trying to recoup. Ended up £2k down on the day. I definitely wasn't as bad as I have been but if it wasn't for the tilt I realise I could have saved myself lots of effort and stress. Over the past couple of days I have worked really hard to recoup and can fortunately post an increased profit since my last post for November. Adding to this my favourite horse of the moment ran tonight and won. The info I got was reasonably positive but I fancied it quite strongly. It won quite easily and I had £200 e/w with William Hill at 9/2 (SP returned 7/2) and made me over £1k profit.

Nice to take it from the Bookies! As always my figures don't include this profit.

November Profit to date £3362.91

Nothing much to say.......

Not a great deal to report but I wanted to keep up the momentum on my postings. Had plenty of sessions and worked hard for a decent profits boost. I have kept 'reasonably' disciplined but I suppose I could have been more. Used a bit of trading where I felt value was to be had and made a few extra pounds that way.

November Profit = £2875.33

Profit Boost

A couple of good days gave my profit figure for November a decent boost. Hardwork on Thursday with several sessions and two sessions yesterday. Admittedly it was given a boost by a decent tip that I went big win and place. The sum total of this means that I am now in profit for November to a very respectable £2070.18
