Learning Lessons - RONALDO I LOVE YOU!

Learnt an important lesson on staking last night. I played the US horses and it was one of those nights when I knew it just wasn't my night. Despite reducing my stakes to what I had been playing in recent weeks whilst trying to recover losses, it wasn't long before I 'd lost quite heavily and was into chasing territory! Some of my concerns in the early posts of this blog questioned my form on the US racing but over the past couple of weeks my good form has returned and you could say I have been ON FIRE! Fortunately my good form hasn't deserted me, it was just my good fortune. The amount of close 2nds and close 3rds was unbelievable.

Anyway, early doors my staking got me into trouble (LESSON 1) fortunately my banker bet of the evening which was an amazing 7/4 when I expected it to be odds on, got me out of trouble. I should have just quit then, I was a few quid down but up on the day and if I had a proper look at the cards ahead (particularly later on) I would have done (LESSON 2). But no I continued aiming to make a profit and my eratic staking continued (LESSON 3) and got me into an evening bigger mess. I wasn't blindly chasing, I was waiting for what I thought were good opportunities but my luck was out. I layed a fav and back a 2nd fav, the swing was huge and mine lost in a photo when it looked the winner all the way up the straight but that happens in racing and it will go the other way one day. By this point there was very little racing left and it was getting late. I wasn't posting my selections on the forum. I placed a massive bet and the horse absolutely hacke up by about 12 lengths. I won't forget the horses name in a hurry, Ronaldo, I will never show hatred for the ex -man utd now with real madrid footballer again! For the first time that night I was in front.

It was reckless and I shouldn't have been there in the first place and in future I wouldn't have been so lucky (LESSON4) but boy was I happy.

The profit for a turbulent day was £588.07
